Multiple shoot induction in zygotic embryos: a strategy for acceleration of banana breeding

چکیده
The presence of residual female fertility in most the parthenocarpic banana accessions encourages breeder to develop new hybrids through conventional breeding. Desirable trait can be fixed first generation hybrid progenies, but evaluation these field is time-consuming process owing non-availability uniform suckers/planting material. This overcome by developing multiple shoots from single embryo a short period time culture. A protocol for vitro multiplication plantlets zygotic embryos was standardized seeded accessions. Multiple were achieved up 55.2% and 64.1% Musa acuminata M. velutina respectively medium supplemented with 17.76 µM BAP. Single shoot derived (only germination) decapitated apical meristem disturbed further formation media Present studies revealed that total 75% 91% M.velutina able produce manipulating composition decortications technique. above applied obtained controlled pollination (18 cross combinations) open (nine accessions) various genomic groups (ABB, AAB, AA). plantlet germinated examined genetic fidelity analysis SSR markers. under culture developed this study will accelerate breeding program.

INVITRO REGENERATION VIA MULTIPLE SHOOT INDUCTION FROM IMMATURE EMBRYOS OF PIGEONPEA (Cajanus cajan)
Pigeonpea is an important grain legume, however the genetic transformation of pigeonpea has been very challenging to date. In the present study, we describe a simple protocol for plantlet regeneration via multiple shoot induction from 12-16 day old immature embryos of pigeonpea cultivar ICPL 87 which can be used for efficient transformation. By optimizing the culture medium, we have achieved or...
متن کاملMaternal Eomesodermin regulates zygotic nodal gene expression for mesendoderm induction in zebrafish embryos.
Development of animal embryos before zygotic genome activation at the midblastula transition (MBT) is essentially supported by egg-derived maternal products. Nodal proteins are crucial signals for mesoderm and endoderm induction after the MBT. It remains unclear which maternal factors activate zygotic expression of nodal genes in the ventrolateral blastodermal margin of the zebrafish blastulas....
متن کاملTiming of The First Zygotic Cleavage Affects Post-Vitrification Viability of Murine Embryos Produced In Vivo
Background Timing of the first zygotic cleavage is an accurate predictor of embryo quality. Embryos that cleaved early (EC) have been shown to exhibit higher developmental viability compared to those that cleaved at a later period (LC). However, the viability of EC embryos in comparison to LC embryos after vitrification is unknown. The present study aims to investigate the post-vitrification de...
